Death Maze spells

All 26 spells in the rulebook, from the Charm that turns a monster to your side to the Resurrection that brings a hero back. Each page works out what the spell does to your odds.

Combat spells

Cast only in combat, and only from the second rank.

Spell Cost Effect
Charm 3 A monster that fails to resist joins the party's side.
Blast 1 The monster in the front row: 2 wounds.
Explosion 1 Every combatant: 1 wound each (unless resisted).
Lightning Bolt 2 The monster in the front row: 1K3x2 wounds.
Sleep 2 Any monster falls asleep.
Release 3 Removes a charm from a character fighting against the party.
Magic Shield 2 Immunity to wound-dealing spells until the end of combat.
Uncertainty 2 Before combat: time for potions and healing spells.
Truce 3 Ends combat (not against the Nameless One).
Psychic Strike 4 The monster in the front row: 2K6+2 wounds.

Any-time spells

Cast at any point in play, though a few only help in one situation.

Spell Cost Effect
Lock 1 Withdraw and lock the door permanently.
Magic Armour 1 Absorbs 1K3+1 wounds.
Neutralise Poison 1 Cures the effects of poison immediately.
Revive from Stone 3 Restores a character turned to stone.
Strength 1 Like the Agility potion: +1K6 AGI in the next combat.
Healing 1 Heals 1K3+1 wounds (not on yourself).
Rejuvenation 2 Heals 1K6+1 wounds (not on yourself).
Teleportation 3 Moves a character or monster to a previously visited segment.
Gentle Fingers 1 +3 to the "traps" skill for one attempt.

Negotiation spells

Cast before the negotiation roll.

Spell Cost Effect
Eloquence 1 +4 to the negotiation roll.
Intimidation 2 Automatic intimidation.
Discouragement 3 Intimidation, plus the monster gives up all its treasure.

Bribery spells

Cast during a bribery attempt.

Spell Cost Effect
Suggestion 1 -2 to the bribe roll.
Flattery 2 -4 to the bribe roll.

Special spells

Gained during play, never chosen at the start.

Spell Cost Effect
Wrath of God 3 The monster in the front row: 2K6+2 wounds (cost per 10.8).
Resurrection 5 Resurrects a character who died in the last fight.

Cost is the wounds the caster pays. Type: W combat, O any time, N negotiation, V bribery, S special.
