Deathmaze rules
Deathmaze is the 1979 SPI dungeon crawl that Citadel of Blood grew out of: one level, a party of Heroes, Thieves and, in the Advanced game, Wizards, and a win you share by leaving the maze alive with the loot. You can play its Basic and its Advanced game here, solo.
What you can play
- The Basic game, as the booklet describes it: chapters 1.0 to 10.0 and the charts. Mods and house rules do not apply to it.
- The Advanced game adds Wizards and their twelve spells, rings, Evil Wizards, special abilities of some monsters, and survivors who can go in again after spending their experience: chapters 11.0 to 13.0 of the booklet. You pick it on the set-up screen as Deathmaze Advanced. In the Basic game the Wizards, rings and special abilities that the text mentions are not used.
- The booklet is written for one to six players. Here you play solo and lead the whole party.
- The rules are transcribed from the original booklet, and the case numbers in them (5.12, 8.31 and so on) are its own.
